Chains of Honor Runeword (CoH)

1x Dol Rune, 1x Um Rune, 1x Ber Rune, 1x Ist Rune and a 4-socket Armor
'DolUmBerIst' - these 4 runes are the magic combination of the Chains of Honor runeword in Diablo 2 Resurrected. To get started you will need 1x Dol Rune, 1x Um Rune, 1x Ber Rune, 1x Ist Rune, as well as any 4-socket Armor. You can then put these 4 runes into the sockets of the base item - one by one - following the exact order of the rune word. The rune word was first introduced in Patch 1.10 of Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction and like all rune words, was not available in the classic version of D2.

You can use this runeword Chains of Honor for pretty much every build. It grants you character bonuses like Life Leech, +2 to All Skills, a massive boost to All Resistances, and more. So if you want to know how to get it as fast as possible and if it fits your build, stick with this guide until the end.

It is recommended for nearly every class because the Chains of Honor bonuses benefit everyone. But especially melee characters are recommended to use this runeword, to benefit more from the Life Leech. Sorceress, Barbarians, Shapeshifting Druid, Strafezon, and more are a good combination with Chains of Honor. And if it is not too expensive for you, Chains of Honor is also an excellent choice for the mercenary.

The Chains of Honor is a powerful runeword, that is beside the Ber rune not that hard to farm. It is one of the best all-round body armor runeword of the game, so definitely worth it to farm.

How do I socket the CHAINS OF HONOR RUNEWORD?

Make sure you have all runes available - 1x Dol Rune, 1x Um Rune, 1x Ber Rune, 1x Ist Rune - then put them into the sockets of the base item, in the correct order pictured below. Pay extra attention to this. The rune word is 'DolUmBerIst' for a reason, so if you don't socket it in the exact order, the result would not be 'Chains of Honor' (and instead you would end up with a bunch of runes socketed into the base item).
Take your desired base item, then socket the runes in this exact order:

Strengths

Chains of Honor is a good choice for every class. It has the highest +All resistances of all armor runewords, 25% magic find, and +2 to all skills

Weaknesses

There are little to no severe weaknesses. One might argue that the expensive Ber rune is a weakness, as just for the cost of a ber rune alone you would be able to build other runewords.

How much is CHAINS OF HONOR worth?

Runewords can have a huge difference in value. In order to find out the worth of the Chains of Honor Runeword, we need to add up the value of the single runes, as well as the base item used for socketing. Every roll will require these basic ingredients and will get you the Chains of Honor Runeword with random stats. This can be defined as the minimum value. The higher the stats of the roll, the higher the final value of the runeword. A "perfect roll" in a superior base tends to be the most rare and hence much more expensive than a random roll.
