Infinity Runeword

2x Ber Rune, 1x Mal Rune, 1x Ist Rune and a 4-socket Polearm

This is a useful Rune word, that is often being used for mercenaries because it has a Conviction Aura. This aura reduces the resistance of enemies and significantly increases elemental damage. It also comes with a Crushing Blow, a move that deals a certain % of the enemy’s current health as damage.
The -% to Lightning Resistance only works for the character equipping it. As the runeword is limited to polearms, it is highly recommended for Act 2 mercenary, because he is the only mercenary who can wield polearms

How do I socket the INFINITY RUNEWORD?

Make sure you have all runes available - 2x Ber Rune, 1x Mal Rune, 1x Ist Rune - then put them into the sockets of the base item, in the correct order pictured below. Pay extra attention to this. The rune word is 'BerMalBerIst' for a reason, so if you don't socket it in the exact order, the result would not be 'Infinity' (and instead you would end up with a bunch of runes socketed into the base item).
Take your desired base item, then socket the runes in this exact order:

Farming the Runes

  • Ber: You can farm it by killing The Countess on nightmare or hell difficulty. You can also get it from the Hell Forge on nightmare or hell difficulty and Act 3, but there only on hell. If you have some Sur left, you can craft the rune at the Horadric Cube. 2x ‘Sur’ + flawless Amethyst = ‘Ber’
  • Farm Mal from The Countess drop and Hell Forge on hell difficulty. It can also drop in Act 5 on nightmare. If you got some Um left, you can craft this rune at the Horadric Cube. 2x ‘Um’ + topaz = ‘Mal’
  • Ist: You can get this rune from farming The Countess and The Hell Forge on hell difficulty. It also has a chance to drop in Act 5 on nightmare difficulty. To craft the Ist rune, you have to transmute 2x ‘Mal’ + Amethyst = ‘Ist’ in the Horadric Cube.

And the Base?

The Voulge, Colossus Voulge, and Bill have a maximum of 4 Sockets. The Scythes and Threshers are faster. Farm them in level 85 Areas.

Bardiche, Lochabar Ace, and Ogre Axe can not be used as a base for Infinity, as they have a maximum of 3 Sockets. To make the runeword you need a base with exactly 4 Sockets.

Strengths

Infinity comes with a strong conviction aura and crushing blow. The conviction aura is boosting elemental damage significantly. On top of that +35% faster run/walk and prevents your enemies to heal.

Weaknesses

  • It is limited to only polearms,
  • Requires two Ber rune, which can be quite expensive

How much is INFINITY worth?

Runewords can have a huge difference in value. In order to find out the worth of the Infinity Runeword, we need to add up the value of the single runes, as well as the base item used for socketing. Every roll will require these basic ingredients and will get you the Infinity Runeword with random stats. This can be defined as the minimum value. The higher the stats of the roll, the higher the final value of the runeword. A "perfect roll" in a superior base tends to be the most rare and hence much more expensive than a random roll.

Can I buy the INFINITY Runeword in D2R?

Alternatively, you may want to get the unmade version, where we'll deliver the runes plus the base item to you. You can then complete the socketing yourself (offering a chance for a perfect roll, which would be of significantly higher value).
